The department of gastroenterology treats illnesses of the stomach and intestines as well as acute and chronic conditions of the liver and pancreas.
A fully equipped endoscopy suite is at the patients' service around the clock. We conduct endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on such organs as the stomach/intestines and the gallbladder and pancreas. This includes the removal of gallstones impacted in the biliary duct, the insertion of different types of stents, the excision of tumors and the stopping of hemorrhages. The use of modern ultra sound equipment allows us to keep the risk to the patient at a minimum.
The comprehensive experience of our specialists ensures an optimal treatment of patients who suffer from illnesses of the digestive tract. They are supported by a close co-operation with the general surgery service of our hospital.
Another emphasis lies in the treatment of all types of diabetes. Our recognised training and treatment center offers the latest therapies for managing this illness, including the insuline pump.
We place particular emphasis on a detailed and systematic instruction of the diabetic patient in the management of his condition, including his family members.
