The Department of Internal Medicine I is focused on diagnostics and therapeutics of cardiovascular diseases. The department is a participant in the Disease-Management-Program Coronary Heart Diseases (DMP KHK), certified by health insurance providers.
With implementing a new state-of-the-art cardiac catheter laboratory in 2007, in completely newly decorated rooms, we provide a high standard of invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for heart diseases.
The main focuses of the Department can be summarised as follows:
- ECG, Holter-Monitoring and prolonged blood pressure analysis
- Echocardiography including 3 dimensional, stress- and transoesophageal procedures
- Cardiac CT and MRI
- Diagnostic left- and right-heart catheterization
- Treatment of narrowed or occluded coronary vessels with PTCA
(balloonangioplasty) mostly followed by stent-implantation (vascular prosthesis)
- Implantation of Pacemakers and ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator)
